City of Brussels to offer up to 150 euros if you sterilize your dog

Starting from January 2020 dog owners in the city of Brussels could get a bonus of 150 euros if they sterilize their female dogs. The bonus stands at 100 euros for male dogs.

This bonus is actually the necessary amount to cover the operation cost.

The City of Brussels had previously offered a bonus for the sterilization of cats. 

Zoubida Jellab, Alderwoman of Green Spaces, Public Cleaning and Animal Welfare, added: “I do not understand why we push to sterilize cats but not dogs. This is a service rendered to the animal.”
