Starting on July 15 until August 20, the Foire du Midi will be back in town. From Porte de Hal until Porte d’Anderlecht you will  discover more than 130 attractions, from the most classic to the most sensational such as carousels, ghost train, bumper cars or thrill rides. “Every year, the city of Brussels and the fairgrounds work hand in hand in order to offer la Foire du Midi’s visitors unforgettable moments. For this 137th edition, I invite the public to come and share moments of conviviality with family, friends or colleagues.” says Marion Lemesre, in charge of Economic Affairs within the City of Brussels.
The Foire du Midi will also be the occasion to taste and discover emblematic products such as love apples, “barbes à papa” and, of course, Belgian fries! 20 booths are exclusively dedicated to the food lovers. “La Foire du Midi is for many visitors the opportunity to taste a crunchy love apples, crispy fries or a delicious barbe à papa. The mix of good smells contribute to this special atmosphere of Brussels Kermesse. The gastronomy fair will be at the spotlight this year due to the presence of Pierre Wynants, the three-star chef of Comme chez Soi restaurant” concludes Marion Lesmesre. In fact, Pierre Wynants created a special sauce for this event.
Some important side events:
  • July 15: Manneken Pis will wear his Pierrot costume for the kick-off of the Foire du Midi.
  • July 21: For the Belgium National Day the fair will be decorated with three Belgium colors: black, yellow and red.
As with all major events organised by the city of Brussels, security will be reinforced with surveillance cameras and the installation of concrete blocks around the site. The police presence will be permanent thanks to the temporary police station installed on the site. Special attention will be paid to cleanliness: 70 garbage cans will be placed around the attractions and emptied on a daily basis.
