Indonesian Film Festival
Indonesia is a major Asian player with its 260 million inhabitants, it is home to the highest Muslim population across the World.
Next 23rd January, Cinéma Vendôme is holding the “Indonesian Film Festival”. Screening 51 movies from 20 years are about to be displayed, with each movie covering a different political, economic and social milestones within Indonesia; one of which follows the reformist movement that brought down President Suharto in 1998. This event is a major date for Indonesian movies, as the film production was very insignificant under the Suharto’s political regime.
From patriarchal dominance to the role of women in the Indonesian society, you will have the opportunity to gain a deeper insight into this South-Asian culture. 8 key stakeholders have been invited to share their views with the Brussels residents.
And with exhibitions and workshops running in addition to the movies, the interest is endless.
