Mediterranean Film Festival of Brussels boosting women rights

The 17th Mediterranean Film Festival of Brussels, known as Med, started last Friday and will go on until December 8.

Since 1989, every December, Med has been playing an important role in promoting Mediterranean culture in Brussels. In 2017, he festival is divided in three emblematic Brussels venues: Botanique, Bozar and Cinéma Aventure. Med aims to promote tolerance, respect and peace through a cinephile atmosphere.

What’s on the menu?

This year we have ingredients from all the Mediterranean countries. Another singularity for this 17th edition: Med will pay tribute to women filmmakers. Multiple movies are covering the essence of the Mediterranean women. This year, the festival brings to Brussels movies where women resist, create, break, demonstrate and disassemble stereotypes.
