New Dardennes’ film Ahmed to receive funds from Wallonia-Brussels Federation

The Wallonia-Brussels Federation has allocated a total of € 3,9 million to give financial support to 41 projects (16 feature films, 8 shorts and 17 documentaries). The funds will be destined to the writing, development or production of films.

The new film by the Dardenne brothers, « Ahmed », will benefit from these funds. The film tells the story of how a young boy escapes religious fanaticism.

 

 

Among the other films to receive support are: « Wise Blood » by Bouli Lanners, who narrates a forbidden love story, and « Save Mozart », which marks the return of Gérard Corbiau to the big screen, 18 years after, « Le Roi Danse » .

Projects by Philippe Van Leeuw, Zeno Graton, Laura Wendel, Claire Simon, and Thierry Michel are also part of the selection.
