New Dardennes’ film Ahmed to receive funds from Wallonia-Brussels Federation
The Wallonia-Brussels Federation has allocated a total of € 3,9 million to give financial support to 41 projects (16 feature films, 8 shorts and 17 documentaries). The funds will be destined to the writing, development or production of films.
The new film by the Dardenne brothers, “Ahmed”, will benefit from these funds. The film tells the story of how a young boy escapes religious fanaticism.
Among the other films to receive support are: “Wise Blood” by Bouli Lanners, who narrates a forbidden love story, and “Save Mozart”, which marks the return of Gérard Corbiau to the big screen, 18 years after, “Le Roi Danse” .
Projects by Philippe Van Leeuw, Zeno Graton, Laura Wendel, Claire Simon, and Thierry Michel are also part of the selection.
