No more drinking in Flagey after midnight says Dufourny

Dominique Dufourny, Bourgmestre of Ixelles, has issued an order prohibiting the consumption of alcohol on public roads from midnight until 8:00 am in the Flagey area. Namely the Place Sainte-Croix, the Etangs of Ixelles and the rue du Belvédère.

Last Tuesday, during the annual meeting of the College with residents of the Flagey neighborhood,  the discussions were very lively. Citizens were deploring the dirtiness and noise that Flagey is facing.  “Flagey, is a special neighborhood, as it attracts a large, young and festive public. But we can’t tolerate everything and residents, certainly satisfied with the measures taken, also told me of their concerns about some incivilities and nuisances still relevant especially in the evening and night. We will continue our work and strengthen our actions,” explained Mrs. Dufourny.

This new order will be effective from March 15th until October 15th.
