Pollen levels in Brussels are increasing
The recent stint of hot weather has brought upon a spell of high pollen in Brussels.
Records indicated 87 grains per m³ in the air on Monday with this threshold retaining 80 grains per m³ air despite cooling weather.
This time of the year is known as the birch pollen season and is often brought out by the hot weather. Other trees like the willow, the beech, the oak, the plane and the trees from the Pinaceae family are also currently in bloom.
People allergic to this type of pollen should be careful and follow their doctor’s advice.
The cooler and variable weather inhibits the dispersion of the pollen grains and with projected rain forecast, pollen levels could decrease.
