Time for Lunch! – Falafel at UN, Place de Londres

Brussels is quite empty right now. Most people have left for holidays, not much is happening in the institutions – it’s just the weather that doesn’t feel like summer holidays. What’s better for cheering oneself up than food? Yep, nothing.

FalafelLocated right at Place de Londres, this spot is a popular place to grab lunch at and sit in the sun (or hide inside cause it’s raining). At UN, Falafel are prepared freshly every few minutes, put in a box or pita bread and served with four additional ingredients. It’s up to you what to choose, be it mushrooms with herbs, baba ganoush, carrots with cumin, roasted eggplant, hummus, well you name it. Add some tahini, spicy or yoghurt sauce and enjoy your fresh Falafel. Apparently it’s one of the best in town, approved by true Falafel connoisseurs and lovers. The sides are fresh, well spiced and tasty, the Falafel is crispy outside and soft inside and the pita comes straight from a big stone oven, warm and delicious.

Fancy something sweet? They have dessert, too! Don’t expect to hang out here for hours, though, as it is quite small with only few stools available next to the window.

Good to know: Closed on weekends, Place de Londres 8, 1050 Ixelles

When asking Kaja for her nationality it is "European". Being half German and half Polish and after having lived in many different places it is hard for her to decide for a single one. She moved to Brussels in the beginning of November 2016 to become a part of the Bubble. Although she has studied European studies and Public Policy, her other big interest is: food - a hobby she shares on her blog 'The Recipe Suitcase', where she writes either about food prepared by herself or recommending one of the many restaurants she visits around Europe.
