Video: Car on fire on rue Belliard possibly linked to visit of president Tshisekedi

On Tuesday, a car went on fire on rue Belliard in Brussels. The firemen intervened at around 4.30 p.m. and were able to extinguish the fire rather quickly. No one was injured. The origin of the fire is still unknown, however, some witnesses have spoken of a Molotov cocktail being thrown at the car, but it has not been confirmed yet.

On Wednesday, Stéphanie Lagasse, the spokesman of the Brussels’ attorney, stated that an investigation has been opened. The spokesman has also indicated that the fire could be related to the arrival, on the same day, of the Congolese president Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi to Brussels.

In fact, around 10 p.m. a video of the incident was shared on the Facebook page of a group of Congolese political activists –  Collectif des Congolais pour le Développement et la Paix (CCDP) -with the caption “For Congo, we’re ready for everything”.
