35,000 young people marched in Brussels to demand action against global warming

Some 35,000 young people marched on Thursday to demand more ambitious policies against global warming.

The third youth climate march in Brussels was peaceful and organized. “The participants were numerous, but no problem was reported,” said the spokesman for the Brussels Capital-Ixelles police zone, Ilse Van de Keere.

The end of the march was scheduled for 1:30 pm, but it ended earlier than advertised. Around 13:00, the route taken by the youth was already reopened to traffic. Although the march was peaceful, the police nevertheless deployed important means to ensure security. As in previous actions, the federal police was present as reinforcement.
