Flower power!

Brussels is not a city where flowers and plants have a major role in the urban architecture. However, this month you are lucky, since you can attend a floral international event over the five coming days.

Flowertime will take place from the 11th to the 15th of August at the City Hall. As you may know if you have been living in Brussels for a while, a flower carpet is set up every two years in the Grand Place in August.

This year’s theme is focused on “flowers and fruits”, to make you feel more summery. Brussels’ City Hall will turn into an idyllic place, as all the corridors, offices and meeting rooms will be garnished with dozens of colourful and fruitful floral artworks. More than 100,000 flowers have been used to make the city hall as beautiful as possible!

The city hall will be open for visits in the afternoon on the 11th of August, the first day of the event; it will be open all the day and evening long on the other days. Let’s make the coming days more colourful!
