Public transportation will be free of charge for those under 25 and above 65

STIB, the local public transport operator in Brussels has announced that rides on its network will be free of charge for certain group ranges.

Once the measure is implemented, residents under the age of 25 and those over the age of 65 can use the network for free.

The head of the company, Brieuc de Meeûs stated that the measure should be effective as of July 2020.

However the financial implications of this measure have yet to be seen as it implies a loss of 12 million Euros a year.
