Stib plans to remove the tram line 25

In order to improve the frequency of the tram line 7, the Stib plans to remove the tram line 25 in its current route, says La Capitale. Asked at the Brussels parliament, the regional Minister of Mobility confirms that the option is under study.

As part of the regional mobility plan, Stib and the region wish to improve the public transport axis on the medium belt. “It appeared to the Brussels Mobility and Stib specialists that to ensure the capacity of line 7 and its performance in terms of frequency and punctuality, it would be appropriate to the network to isolate line 7, ” says the minister.

Tram 25, which links Rogier to Boondael station, is currently circulating in part on the tram 7 line. It could thus be diverted to the east of the Brussels Region.
