Asterix and Obélix are in Brussels

Asterix and Obelix are in Brussels! No, you won’t find the Gallic pair roaming the highstreet or at a local tavern, but instead the actors who played them in the classic movie.

The stars of the movie, Gérard Depardieu and Christian Clavier, are once again reunited and are in Brussels filming. The two actors have not worked together since ‘Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra’ in 2002 but came together for the new Bertrand Blier film.

This isn’t the first time a film has been shot on the beautiful streets of Brussels. The diverse range of buildings and mix between narrow and wide streets makes it a good place to get a lot of locations done in just one city.

Filming has been taking place since 14 February in the Jules Malou district in Etterbeek, between La Chasse and Place Jourdan. Other parts of the Brussels region will also feature as locations in the film. The film, by this 78-year old writer, tells the story of a lost soul who meets a man who holds the script to his life.
