Do not take your garbage out on Tuesday night – It might not be picked up due to strike

The collection of garbage bags may be highly disturbed on Wednesday due to the general strike, reported a spokesperson for Bruxelles Propreté. Residents are asked not to take bags out on Tuesday night. All container parks in the Brussels Region will be open.

The collection of the white bags is thus postponed to Saturday, February 16th while the collection of the blue, yellow, orange and green bags is, him, postponed to Wednesday, February 20th.

The strike is not expected to affect the opening of the recy-park. All the container parks in the Brussels-Capital Region will therefore, in principle, be open to the public according to their usual schedules. The only doubt remains as to the opening on Wednesday afternoon of the container park of Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, said a spokesman for Bruxelles Propreté

It is however difficult to predict the impact that the industrial action will have on its activities, as “Bruxelles-Propreté can not force its agents to declare themselves on strike beforehand.”
