Stib invests €42.5 million in 90 new hybrid buses

Stib invested €42.5 million in 90 new hybrid buses. The Brussels public transport signed an agreement with Volvo to supply and maintain the buses. 60 of the newly ordered buses will be delivered by the end of the year.

« Hundreds of new vehicles, all types combined, will join the network in the coming months to offer more comfort, more frequencies, for the benefit of all travelers but especially to mobility in Brussels as a whole « , says Brieuc de Meeûs, CEO of STIB.

About the new buses

These hybrid buses will consume less fuel, be less polluting (less CO, fine particles, etc.) and less noisy. These new buses are based on the design and technology implemented for the latest Citaro buses on the STIB network: leather seats, low floor, LED interior lighting, automatic climate control, and six-seat comfort zone.
