Terrace heaters to be banned in Woluwe Saint Lambert

The alderwoman of Urbanism, Delpine de Valkeneer has stated that the municipality of Woluwe Saint Lambert plans to ban patio heaters throughout its whole territory.

The usage of these heaters had already been prohibited in the district of Avenue Georges Henri. This measure was taken initially for aesthetic reasons and to preserve the architectural aspect of the avenue.

However, the alderwoman explains now the environmental reason behind this decision. She adds that the consumption of four of these heaters during 8 hours is equivalent to traveling 350 km by car. Moreover, it is a heresy to heat the outside space and also a complete waste.
