Brussels’ Little Italy: Part V – Piadina at Nonno

Nonno, a little Italian spot on rue Haute, squeezed in between all the nice antiquity shops and not far from the famous place de Jeu de Balle. The people working here are very friendly, open and what’s most important: you get your food FAST. The place is quite small, not really comfy, with bar stools and high tables all around. But it’s just perfect to enjoy your Piadina on the spot. What is a Piadina? It’s a thin Italian ‘tortilla/pancake’ made from wheat flour, stuffed with all kinds of ingredients and then toasted until crispy and golden brown. You can put anything in your Piadina: cooked ham, cured ham, all kinds of cheeses, rucola, mushrooms, spinach… whatever Italian ingredient comes into your mind!

And if you’re still craving for something more after this delicious sandwich, they have great cannoli! A greasy, crispy pastry, filled with whipped ricotta cream. You’ll love it!

Prices: 6-7€ for a Piadina
