Spending your summer in Brussels means having a wide and varied choice of festivals and activities to choose from! The city is seizing every sunny day and warm night to celebrate and the options are almost overwhelming. You won’t get bored easily here!
For example, this weekend (8th-9th of July) the city will host the Hungastry, the second edition of the Hungarian Festival, organised by the Permanent Representation of Hungary to the European Union! It enhances the Hungarian culture, history and traditions and it will introduce you to its surprises and hidden treasures. It will take place in the Cinquantenaire Park, from 12am to 10 pm.
The festival will be a great opportunity to spend some time in one of Brussels’ best parks with friends and family: there will be several different options for the youngest, as well as for the adults!
The weekend-long festival will introduce the visitors to the Hungarian gastronomy, art, handcrafts and artisan products; it will present the folk music and the traditional dances. Moreover, as the spokesperson of the Hungarian Embassy said, “It will offer full-day interactive programs, such as the Rubik’s Cube competition, community singing, musical fairy tales for kids, projection of cartoons. Moreover, you will have the chance to discover the life of Istavan Szechenvi, the founder of modern Hungary, thanks to the exhibition “Acts from Visions”.
The festival will host Hungarian artists and performers, who will entertain the visitors with folk music and dance, and jazz, pop and funk tunes all along the weekend. But that’s not it yet: there will also be an artisanal market with objects and delicacies from all around Hungry; a traditional restaurant and books presentations!
It will be a unique opportunity to discover a bit more about the Hungarian culture and history while enjoying the warm weather of Brussels, relaxing in Cinquantenaire and spending some fun time with friends and family. Absolutely not to miss!
