Music at the Iris Festival: Electro Night and MIXITY sings Brel

Along with the varied activities it will be holding in Brussels Park on Sunday 6 May, the Iris Festival is also a musical event. On Saturday, party goers and dance lovers will get to enjoy the biggest dance floor in Brussels. Then, on Sunday, a score of Belgian performers will come together for an exclusive show dedicated to Jacques Brel on the 40th anniversary of his death.

On 5 and 6 May, the Brussels-Capital Region will be celebrating its 29th anniversary. Among the hundreds of free events on offer, Electro Night and the concerts at Place des Palais have become an unmissable part of this festive weekend.

Electro Night brings music lovers together year after year. These DJ sets will be taking place in Place des Palais, in the heart of the capital, and will once again be headlined by some of the major Belgian and international names.

MIXITY.brussels, a huge collaborative project celebrating the abundant diversity that defines Brussels, will take to the Iris Festival stage to pay tribute to the great Jacques Brel, who has been gone for 40 years. Starting at 6:30 pm, a score of distinctly Bruxellois artists will revive the artist’s greatest hits. On the programme: Unprecedented duets, songs performed in different languagesand plenty of other surprises! The presenters for the evening will be Cécile Djunga and Els De Schepper.

To round off the night in style, DJs Zenobe and Gaston will get the crowd moving to the sound of electro swing.
