Winter Wonders and Christmas Markets 2017

Last Friday the Brussels Christmas tree was inaugurated with its more 1600 LED strip lights. From now on, both Christmas markets and the Winter wonders 2017 will keep you entertained until December 31.

Discovering the Christmas market. It is no secret that the Christmas market in Place Sainte-Catherine is one of the best markets in town. Here you might find the perfect Christmas gift and enjoy typical food and drinks from this season. If you like fish, you should consider eating a grilled salmon at the esplanade, just at market’s entrance.  If you found yourself in a winter mood, I advice you to eat a delicious fondue sandwich while drinking mulled wine. In case you miss your favourite Belgian traditional products, no worries,  you will have everything you wish at the Chimay’s chalet.

The magical view from the wheel.  Christmas really makes sense when it is about lighting the streets and buildings. Take a moment and enjoy these wonders.  The Ferris wheel at Sainte-Catherine will provide you a perfect and wide view over the Christmas market. I strongly advice you to purchase a ticket in the evening.

Reaching the City centre. After surviving the crowd, walking towards Grand Place would not be a bad idea. Hundreds of stands will offer you products and food from all over the World. You will surely find something to bring back home for Christmas. You should also consider to stop at Maison Dandy and buy traditional Belgian speculoos.

Light and festive parades. Every Saturday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, dazzling light parades will wind their way through the streets of Brussels! Passing by the Bourse, Grand-Place, Monnaie, Sainte-Catherine and Vismet, passers-by will have the opportunity to admire these magical moments. To the amazement of onlookers, the light parades will present the attractions of the Christmas market with a sprinkling of magic and sparkle.

Last but not least, it is time to discover this year Christmas tree at the Grand Place. The main attraction of the upcoming weeks!
